Is it better to invest in a Roth IRA than a 401k as a young adult with a part time job?
They have ROTH 401k where the tax is taken out initially, try and see if your job offers that option.
Yes it is. A few tips is to learn the basics before you throw your hard earned $$ at things. I’d suggest reading through fool.com as a start.
How do I balance living frugally with enjoying my hard work and achievements? I am currently in college and on my way to graduate debt-free through scholarships, and it is hard for me to treat myself when I accomplish anything, be it a successful semester or an internship.
Hi Patience - You sound like an amazingly dedicated and hard working person. Congratulations on your work ethic and all that you have accomplished thus far! In my experience, it is important to stop and take some time to celebrate success. It is restorative and so important. This can be something simple like going for a walk in a park, treating yourself to something you don't normally do (like an ice cream cone, an afternoon lounging on the couch with a non-academic book or magazine, etc.). Reward yourself every so often. It will feel great and help you prepare for the next challenge ahead of you.
